Specification

Rosemount Wireless Transmitter

The Rosemount Wireless Framework operates on the IEC 62591 WirelessHART® protocol at 2.4 GHz DSSS. The primary gateway model is the Emerson Wireless 1410S paired with the 781S Smart Antenna. The network supports up to 100 WirelessHART devices on DeltaV and up to 200 devices on standard configuration. The Smart Antenna wiring distance extends up to 400 m using a single twisted shielded pair of 22–24 AWG cable.

RF power output reaches a maximum of 40 mW (16 dBm) EIRP, with a data reliability rating of greater than 99%. Power input ranges from 10.5 to 30 VDC with Power over Ethernet (PoE) also supported. Host connectivity is available via Modbus TCP/IP, OPC DA, EtherNet/IP, HART-IP, and Modbus RTU (RS-485).

The 781S Smart Antenna enclosure is rated Type 4X and IP66/67, suitable for harsh outdoor and industrial environments. Humidity tolerance is 0 to 99% non-condensing relative humidity. The system meets all industrial environment EMC requirements per EN61326 and NAMUR NE-21, with a maximum deviation of less than 1% span during EMC disturbance. Security is enforced through AES-128 encryption with unique join keys and session keys assigned per device. Gateway redundancy is available through a dual-gateway redundant pair configuration. Mounting options include DIN-rail (TS35/7.5 or TS35/15) or surface mount. Certifications include ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, and FCC Part 15. Compatible transmitters include Rosemount 3051S, 702, 802, 848T, 648, 2160, and more.

Features

The Rosemount Wireless Framework offers network flexibility, allowing users to strengthen or add to WirelessHART networks seamlessly while connecting with host systems and data applications. The Dual WirelessHART configurable option allows two Smart Antennas to be connected to one Gateway, providing an additional network that expands capabilities and flexibility across the plant.

Flexible antenna locations of up to 1,300 feet (400 m) allow users to create a wireless field network to fit even the most challenging applications and site requirements. The framework connects to data historians, legacy host systems, and other applications via Ethernet using Modbus TCP, OPC, EtherNet/IP, and HART-IP protocols, or serial Modbus RTU (RS485).

The SmartPower module requires no wiring, provides up to eight years of maintenance-free operation, and can be quickly and easily replaced in the field. All transmitters are rated for operation in hazardous areas and are environmentally protected. The self-healing mesh network automatically reroutes data through alternate paths if any communication path is obstructed, ensuring continuous uptime with no wireless expertise required.
